About the place
The Dominican monastery is recorded from 1298. The present church, a Gothic hall church, was built between 1492 and 1515 on the site of the older one; after the monastery was dissolved in 1556 it became the Lutheran parish church. The interior is Baroque.
Seventeenth-century Anatolian rugs, donated by the town guilds, hang on the walls. Reviews mention the bronze doors and the Baroque organ, which is still used for concerts. It holds 4.4 on Google from 252 reviews; the most recent, from January 2026, praises the staff and the altar.
